A SCHOOL has picked up an award for its IT work which allows parents and pupils to follow work from home.
Abbey School, in Darlington, won two categories at the National Grid for Learning awards at Gosforth Park, in Newcastle.
The primary school was praised for its work which provides a link between the school and home. One was for early learning work and the other for personal learning.
The school was presented with certificates and sponsorship from ICT firms.
Head teacher George Ford said: "From our point of view it is recognition of the work done by the teachers.
"It is really important to us because we are promoting a partnership with parents.
"It is a massive push that we can provide information in the home online rather than just through paperwork."
