GOLFERS who teed off for charities have handed over money to three causes.
The Mayor's Charity Golf Tournament, which took place at Stressholme Golf Club, last Friday raised £1,000.
The money has been handed over by the mayor Councillor Jim Ruck to its beneficiaries.
Proceeds have been shared between the Heart of Darlington Appeal, the Great North Air Ambulance and the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre, at Sadberge.
In addition, Crowther Engineering donated £90 on the day for the charities.
Last week's tournament was teed off by Hannah Waterman and Huw Higginson, both of whom were starring at the Summer Repertory Season at Darlington Civic Theatre.
Principal sponsor was Austin Sanders, with Bountiful Baskets providing a luxury hamper, and other sponsors being John Wade group, Hayton and Lamb, UPEX, Openreach and Ruck Engineering.
Overall winners of the event were Ruck Engineering, ahead of Quaker House and Hayton & Lamb. Other competitions included longest drive, nearest the pin and a putting competition.
