VILLAGERS helping to draw up plans for a new memorial garden have raised more funds for their appeal at a fair.
Haughton Residents' Association boosted their funds by £50 at St Andrew's Church on Saturday.
The group has raised £900 so far towards its target of £40,000 for a memorial garden at the church, in the Haughton area of Darlington.
The most recent money came from the stocks at Saturdays village fair.
The garden will be an addition to the graveyard at the church and will allow people to inter a loved ones ashes.
Haughton Residents' Association is working with Groundwork on the project. A planning application is being prepared before more fundraising is undertaken.
