A CONFERENCE has been organised for next month for people who work with the bereaved.
Two organisations which work to help people deal with the practical side following someone's death will run the conference.
The Bereavement Advice Centre and the Bereavement Register will organise the event, which will be hosted by Darlington Borough Council's Register Office at the Dolphin Centre on Thursday, June 4.
It covers a range of issues including the loss of a baby, proposed changes to death certificates, legislation, mail, as well as advice and support to people who have lost a loved one.
Guest speakers at the free event include a bereavement midwife, a funeral director and representatives from the Bereavement Advice Centre, the Bereavement Register, Cruse Bereavement Care, a national charity set up to offer confidential advice to the bereaved, and the Department of Health.
The conference is also open to people who would like to know more about the issues relating to working with people who have suffered a bereavement.
For more information contact the council's superintendent registrar Anthony Hall on 01325-346604.
