A SERIES of concerts are being planned by church officials following the redevelopment of their building.
Four concerts featuring local bands and choirs will be held at Grange Road Baptist Church over the coming months.
The first event takes place next month when The Masonaries, a male voice choir from Darlington, and High Force, a folk trio from Barnard Castle, will perform.
A spokesman from the church said: "When we redeveloped the front part of our church building recently, we did not expect the changes to result in an excellent acoustic within the worship area.
"However, having got this bonus, we felt strongly that it would be a shame not to allow others to benefit from it."
After the inaugural event, three autumn concerts are being planned. They will feature Witness Choir / Meltones Singers on September 26, Northallerton Silver Band on October 23 and Darlington Youth Band on December 4.
The first concert takes place on June 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets are 4 including refreshments. They are available from the church, on 01325-360449 or on grbc@firenet.uk.net. Admission will be available on the door.
