Jason Kennedy has today left Darlington and signed for League Two rivals Rochdale.
Earlier today the 22-year-old had revealed his frustration at not being able to leave Quakers, saying administrators had blocked the move.
He said: "I am determined to move on and make this happen, nobody should demand a transfer fee for me especially as I have not been paid for so long.
"We were all told that we could leave at the end of the season and that we should all find news clubs, my representative has been doing that and we have agreed to join another League Two club."
That club is Rochdale where the former Middlesbrough trainee has signed a two-year deal.
Moving to Spotland is an ironic switch as that was where Kennedy scored one of two spectacular goals against Dale, a long-range volley in a televised game towards the end of the season.
He also curled in a stunning effort in last season's play-offs against Rochdale.
