A MUSIC venue celebrating its fifth birthday will thank supporters by giving them free entry.

The Forum Music Centre, which was set up as not-for-profit venture in 2004, marks its fifth anniversary with an acoustic night on Friday, May 22.

The live music venue, which has played host to The Specials, Inspiral Carpets, Snake Davis, Jim Diamond, Ben’s Brother and Lindisfarne, also has recording studios and rehearsal rooms for both professionals and those starting out.

Dan McKeown, of the Forum, said: “To celebrate five years of being Darlington's musical melting pot, The Forum are extending a special birthday invitation to you, to come join them for a night of acoustic performances from some of the excellent, local musicians who have shaped and contributed to the Forum's musical journey over the past five years.

“As a thank-you to the town for its continued support and patronage, entry will be free and there will even be a birthday cake.”
