A FORMER car showroom which has been closed for many months is being knocked down and the land sold.
Demolition firm Rapleys is razing the former Evans Halshaw garage on St Cuthbert's Way, Darlington.
The former garage was closed by Pendragon and advertised for sale. Although there have been a number of rumours regarding future use of the site, no firm interest has been made or nor planning applications submitted to Darlington Borough Council.
A spokesman for owner Pendragon confirmed Rapleys were conducting the demolition work.
The spokesman added once the work was finished, the land would be advertised for sale.
Demolition work on the former bus depot also on St Cuthbert's Way is nearing completion.
The site is to be used as a council car park.
