Darlington's final game of traumatic season sees Neil Austin replacing Alan White at centre-back.
Quakers are away to Chester with Martin Gray in charge after Dave Penney resigned this week to become manager of Oldham.
Penney will be present to see his new team in action at Walsall, but he is expected to return to the North-East tomorrow to play in Quakers' fundraising game.
The match, starting at 2pm, will give him and Gray, also Oldham-bound, opportunity to say farewell to the Darlington fans.
Gray is in charge of Quakers today and he has selected Austin, usually a right-back, to partner Ian Miller, while winger Adam Griffin has also earned a recall.
Young striker Curtis Main drops to the bench, though it is believed the 16-year-old has attracted the attention of Premier League Fulham and is about to go on trial with the London club.
