A POST office has been congratulated for its teamwork after picking up an award at its regional awards.
Mowden Park Post Office, in Fulthorpe Avenue, Darlington, will go forward to the national finals for the People's Post Office Awards.
The post office, whose postmaster is Pete Stemmer, was named the Best Community Post Office in the North of England heats.
The awards are supported by the National Savings & Investments and present prizes to best crown, town & city and community post offices. Special awards are handed out to other branches. The finals night will be on May 21.
Post Office Ltd spokesman Christine Nolan said: "Being crowned the Best Community Post Office in the North is a worthy accolade for Mowden Park Post Office, particularly as it reflects recognition of the team's hard work and dedication by the customers they serve every day.
"We congratulate the team on their success and wish them the best of luck in the national finals in May."
Jane Platt, National Savings & Investments' chief executive, said: "To be awarded this title is an exceptional achievement of which everyone who works at Mowden Park Post Office should be particularly proud."
