DARLINGTON'S hopes of attracting a record-breaking crowd for a fund raising celebrity match have been dealt a cruel blow this afternoon.

Middlesbrough's home match with Manchester United has been provisionally scheduled for Sunday, May 3 with a 4pm kick-off - in direct opposition to the Darlington "all stars" game.

Should, Middlesbrough's game with Manchester United revert to the Saturday, Sunderland's match will switch to the Sunday.

And in another blow, Newcastle United's visit to Liverpool has also been moved for television coverage.
