POLICE seized a quad bike and fined two people for breaching coronavirus restrictions after responding to a report that it was being ridden in a way that put members of the public at risk.
Within 15 minutes of receiving the complaint yesterday, officers in Darlington located and stopped the vehicle.
The quad bike was seized and both people on it were issued with fixed penalty notices for contravening the restriction of movement during an emergency period – Covid 19.
Police said they will not tolerate the use of off road bikes or quads on public land or anyone breaching the current Covid-19 guidelines.
Darlington Police had also issued a warning notice to another quad bike rider, in the same area, the previous day.
