A SCHOOL band has qualified for the regional finals of a music award.
The band 2 Many Units, from Carmel RC School's sixth form, has reached the regional heats of the Liquidisco Academy Awards, which will be held in Newcastle, on October 14.
The band were formed two years ago.
The ska-punk outfit have gained a following in Darlington following gigs at a variety of venues, particularly The Forum Music Centre, and on its myspace website.
The band features vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Stokell, lead guitarist Sam Wood, bass guitarist Josh Walker and drummer Andy Jones.
James said: "We've had a great year and this just caps it for us.
"Our fans have been amazing and we'd like to thank them for their support."
