HUNDREDS of proud parents and relatives watched their children be rewarded for their hard work at a school's annual awards ceremony.
Last night, Hurworth School held its 13th Lower School Evening to Celebrate Achievement.
As well as the presentation of awards, The Northern Echo's deputy editor Chris Lloyd gave a talk and Katie Coleman sang KT Tunstall's On the Other Side of the World.
Teacher Rita Rees, who organised the event, said it was to recognise the hard work done by the pupils over the previous year.
She said: "About 150 children have got awards for a variety of different things.
"The evening acknowledges and recognises all sorts of different achievements. They've all worked extremely hard to get these awards."
