MORE than 250 nominations have been received for this year's annual Vibe Awards.
The awards, organised by Darlington Borough Council's youth service and Darlington Partnership, recognise the outstanding achievement of young people in the borough.
Nominations have been received in six categories for young people aged eight to 19.
All the nominees have been invited to the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Civic Theatre, on Monday.
Strictly Dance Fever star Darrien Wright will perform at the ceremony for the second year running.
Certificates will be presented to all those nominated in the following categories: contribution to the community; against all odds; outstanding achievement in sport/art/drama and music and school and community based non-profit initiative.
Councillor Chris McEwan, cabinet member for children's services, said: "The Vibe Awards are always a fantastic event and everyone in the borough should be very proud of these young people and what they have achieved.
"These awards prove that so many young people are doing good work in their community and achieving so much at school and at clubs around the town."
