YOUNG athletes embarking on a sports tour of France are asking people to donate unwanted goods in an attempt to raise funds.
The badminton team at Hummersknott School, in Darlington, is holding a market stall in the town, and is looking for good quality unwanted items to sell.
Twenty-four players are due to go to France for ten days in April next year to play badminton against a number of teams.
Any money raised will subsidise the trip.
Philip Boyle, who coaches the group, said he organised a trip abroad for the youngsters every year.
"A lot of our year 11 players are doing French GCSE, which is why we decided on France," he said.
"We're looking for anything we can sell, such as books, CDs, toys, ornaments, pots and pans - anything really."
The stall will be set up in the outdoor market on Saturday.
Anyone who would like to donate goods is asked to take items to the school before Friday.
