A 15-YEAR-OLD girl lying unconscious in the street after drinking too much was abusive to emergency services who tried to help her.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons but lives in Darlington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Darlington Youth Court yesterday.
David Maddison, prosecuting, said she was found lying on the pavement in Gladstone Street, Darlington, shortly before midnight on Friday, September 7.
Police tried to move her, but she kicked her legs and shook her arms. An ambulance was called, but when the girl, who is now 16, stood up, she bumped into walls and was unsteady on her feet.
When police tried to help her, she became aggressive. When asked her name, she swore. She was also abusive to ambulance staff, and the custody sergeant at Darlington police station.
Magistrates imposed a six-month referral order, but decided against imposing a fine or costs.
