RESTORATION schemes in Darlington, which have benefited from a tax credit scheme, will help celebrate a trust's tenth anniversary.
Darlington Borough Council is helping the County Durham Environmental Trust (CDENT) celebrate its anniversary.
The trust has given the council money from the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme for environment projects in the town.
They include wildlife projects at Drinkfield Marsh and Maidendale Nature Reserve and Fishing Centre.
Work has been carried out to improve the wildlife habitat and attract more visitors.
Other work in Darlington has included landscaping at the newly-refurbished Arts Centre, in Vane Terrace.
A grant of £110,000 was also given towards the restoration of South Park including its visitor centre.
Councillor Veronica Copeland, cabinet member for sustainable environment and climate change, said: "Darlington has benefited from a number of CDENT grants and the Council is delighted to be able to help the trust celebrate its tenth anniversary by showcasing what has been achieved throughout the borough."
The council will be among contributors at a CDENT exhibition next month.
