A FIGHT in a Darlington bar ended with a man being struck with a bottle.
Darlington Magistrates' Court was shown CCTV footage on Thursday of the attack, which happened at Route 66 on Saturday, May 5.
Daniel Michael Chambers, 20, of Jasmin Grove, School Aycliffe, was shown using the bottle and he pleaded guilty to affray.
David Madison, prosecuting, said Chambers fell to the floor along with several others, including females, after a fight broke out.
After struggling with a male and a female, he got up, approached a man lying on the floor and brought a bottle down "with some force".
It is not clear which part of the body the bottle hit, but police arrested Chambers after the fight.
Mr Madison said, when Chambers was questioned, he told police he had been out with his cousin when he bumped into someone. He tried to apologise, but someone struck him.
Chambers also said his memory of the incident was sketchy because he had been drinking. He has one previous conviction for a public order offence.
Magistrates adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report, with a custody steering. Chambers will appear on Thursday, October 4, at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court.
