A BID to build an industrial recycling station is expected to be approved after safety measures were updated.
An application to convert a wood recycling unit into a waste transfer station on the Albert Hill industrial estate, Darlington, was previously postponed.
Darlington councillors at last month's planning meeting asked for officers to obtain information about safety measures on the site, in Dodsworth Street.
Officers have recommended the plans for approval subject to conditions after owner Tim McHale gave safety details.
Five residents objected to the plans and a petition with 38 signatures was collected.
Concerns included noise, traffic and dust.
The applicant said he wants to convert the premises because of a lull in the wood recycling market. The meeting takes place in the town hall on Wednesday at 1.30pm. It is open to the public.
