A COMMUNITY cafe has opened in North Road, Darlington.
The weekly drop-in centre at Northlands Church is open to residents and cafe is run by volunteers from the local community partnership.
Partnership member Michelle Thompson said: "The cafe is open to anybody who wants to drop in for a cup of tea or a coffee.
"We are desperate for volunteers. We would really like to hear from anybody who would be interested in helping out.
"We would also like to encourage the Polish and Lithuanian people who live in this area to come along
"Eventually we are hoping to set up an internet cafe to give people free lessons on how to use the web."
The cafe is open on Fridays from 1.30pm to 3pm.
