A YEAR of life-changing treatment for a young cerebral palsy sufferer has been paid for thanks to the efforts of a local business.
A charity auction, held at the launch event of property company Lander Be in Yarm, Stockton, earlier this year, raised more than £4,000 to help Oscar Wharton, from Kirklevington.
However, the firm donated money to bring the total amount raised to £6,200 - the equivalent of two courses of treatment for three-year-old Oscar.
On Saturday, Julie Wharton, Oscar's mother, was presented with the money. It will pay for the twice-yearly treatments at the Bobath centre in London which could eventually see Oscar walk unaided.
Mrs Worton said: "It's fantastic, we couldn't believe people's generosity. For a business to become that involved, it's really appreciated. When we get the phone call to say there's places available, we've got the funds."
