EMPLOYERS in Darlington are being encouraged to back a campaign to encourage volunteering.
Darlington's Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) is hoping to set up team to carry out voluntary projects. It hopes to get employers on board and has won the backing of Darlington Partnership.
Schemes have been identified, including erecting fencing around ponds at an ecology site used by children from Haughton Education Village.
Peter Locke, from the CVS, said: "People currently in work have skills that would be invaluable to volunteering and there are benefits for the employers too."
