SPORTING events held for children in Darlington over the summer have been hailed as a success
Hundreds of children took part in projects organised by the borough council's sports development team, to encourage children to get active.
The programme gave young people, aged eight to 16, the chance to attend sport camps and try their hand at street dance and trampolining. More than 200 young people took part in activities.
Chris McEwan, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for children's services, said: "We were delighted that so many young people took advantage of the sporting opportunities on offer this summer."
