A GROUP of 40 cyclists have taken part in a ride to raise money for a Darlington charity.
The team cycled 85 miles from Darlington and across North Yorkshire and raised £550 for St Teresa's Hospice, based in Woodland Road.
The event was organised by keen cyclist Robert Nash, whose family have been supported by the hospice.
He said: "St Teresa's Hospice is an extremely important charity to many people and everyone involved in the event was proud to support the work.
"The hospice played a role close to my own heart and was there for support throughout an aunt's recent illness."
The cyclists started from the Market Square and rode to Leyburn, Richmond and back to Darlington.
Jane Bradshaw, St Teresa's hospice director, said: "We would like to thank everyone who took part in the cycle ride to raise funds for the hospice and also to all those who gave generously.
"Every donation received makes a huge difference to the support we can give to those who need it."
