HUNDREDS of Darlington residents learnt more about some of the town's building projects yesterday.
The event, in the Market Square, was designed to provide information on developments including Central Park, the Eastern Transport Corridor, and the Eastbourne Academy.
The police also attended, and there was information on Darlington's Community Partnerships.
The event was organised by Lingfield Community Partnership and councillors Ian and Lynn Haszeldine.
Councillor Ian Haszeldine said the day had been excellent. "It's been a good turnout, there has been a steady flow of people, and luckily the weather has been good," he said. "There's been a good passing trade - as the traders would say.
"It's been about getting the information out to the residents, and the right people were there to answer the right questions.
"Birse contractors have been busy taking questions about the Eastern Transport Corridor, the academy stand has been busy. But it's not about who was the busiest - we're all here to give information.
"Logistically, all the work is a nightmare. For local residents, they see one project finished then another starting straight away.
"It can be frustrating but it's necessary if we want to keep improving the area."
