PLANS were approved yesterday for a new restaurant.
The two-storey end of terrace Victorian building, next to Nattrass's flower shop, in Duke Street, Darlington, was an office.
One business objected to the restaurant, which will open from noon until 3pm, and 6pm to midnight, over noise, rubbish, and smell.
But Darlington Borough Council's planning committee approved the plan, and recommended a wheelchair ramp be installed.
Councillors Bill Stenson and Peter Freitag did not vote because they own businesses in Duke Street.
