PEOPLE in Darlington will be able to get advice on how to deal with debts next week.
Darlington Citizens' Advice Bureau will promote its new face-to-face advice service and raise the profile of debt on Wednesday, September 5.
The event runs from 10am until 6pm, at the bureau's office, in the Market Place.
Carol Shreeve, advice services manger, said: "Bankruptcies in Darlington have risen by 50 per cent in the past 12 months, faster than anywhere else in the region.
"Debt has become a real issue for many people in Darlington."
