ST James the Great Church in Albert Hill, Darlington, celebrates the 131st anniversary of its dedication on Sunday.
At 10am, there will be a solemn mass with preacher Stephen Edmonds, a candidate for ordination at the college of the resurrection, Mirfield. Music will come from the works of Bach, Mozart, Brahms, and Widor.
Following the service, there will be sherry in the church hall, and a parish luncheon at Darlington College, beginning at noon. Tickets cost £13.
At 4pm, there will be a solemn evensong and benediction, led by Fr Ian Grieves.
Music at the service will include Dyson, Parry, Sumsion, Brewer and Nicholson.
