A SQUASH player has had more success as he continues his unbeaten run representing his country.
Colin Shields, who plays at Darlington Squash Club, has represented England in the over 60s event in the home internationals for the second year in a row.
He previously played at international level in the over 50s event in 2007, and then six years later in the over 55s.
Mr Shields has played in eight tournaments around the country this year in Winchester, Exeter, Norwich, Pontefract, Stockport, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
His success saw him finish fifth in the rankings which won him a place in the England team for the home internationals, which took place last month.
His England team won all three matches over the weekend with Colin playing against Scotland and Wales winning both his matches 3-1, 3-1.
His record for England at over 50, 55 and 60s level stands at an unbeaten eight wins.
His next Tournament is the British Open in London starting on June 6.
Speaking about his success previously, Mr Shields said: “I never thought I would be able to achieve this – it just goes to show if you work hard at something, you can achieve anything.
“I do not feel my age at all - it has done me a lot of good to play so much, and now I have retired, I can play even more.”
