SUPPORT services firm Capita beat the Department for Skills and Education 2-0 during a charity football match.
Goals from Keith Parker and Chris Mason were enough to win the Sue Mortimer Challenge Cup, played in memory of a Capita employee who died five years ago.
The match, at Darlington Rugby Club on Friday night, raised more than £900 for the Darlington branch of Different Strokes, a charity for younger stroke survivors.
A sold-out evening of entertainment took place in the rugby club function room after the game. Money was raised through a raffle, donations, and games.
Cath Atkinson, a Capita employee from the Mowden Hall site, helped organise the game.
She said: "It was absolutely fantastic. A band, Casual Sax, donated their services for free and they were brilliant.
"They really got us in the party mood.
"We would also like to thank Darlington Rugby Club for donating the venue free of charge.
"We have the match every year to raise money for a different charity and this year we raised the most yet."
* The Monday night six-a-side League at Eastbourne Sports Complex, Darlington, held its presentation ceremony recently.
Twenty-six teams competed across the leagues and the three divisional winners were Athletico Bilbao, Sparta FC and The Untouchables.
Cup winners were Bayern Munchies. Athletico Bilbao repeated their success in the summer league.
