A YOUTH club which had to close because of problems with its venue has moved downstairs.
The weekly club, in North Road, attracted more than 30 teenagers a week when it was held upstairs at the Northlands Methodist Church.
But meetings were cancelled when organisers raised concerns about the installation of a new stairlift at the church - which they believed posed a health and safety risk to the members who going up and down the stairs.
After discussions between the council youth service staff and the church, the youth club will now be held downstairs.
A Darlington Borough Council spokeswoman said the new area was much bigger.
