A DARLINGTON couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with more than 100 friends and family.
Enid and Sandy Morgan married in 1947 and have three daughters and three grand-daughters.
Mrs Morgan is in no doubt about the scret to such a long and happy marriage.
"The wife has to be the boss of course," she said. "It really doesn't seem like 60 years though. You can't help but wonder where all that time has gone."
"We met at the Queen's Head pub, in Tubwell Row," said Mr Morgan, aged 84.
Within a year, the couple were married. At the time, Mr Morgan was in the RAF, stationed at Catterick, and his wife worked at the NAAFI store in Darlington's Whessoe Road.
The couple's first child, Denise, was born in 1957, followed by Janice in 1960 and Jayne in 1964.
Their daughters organised a surprise party, with 100 friends and family, at the DRSM club, in Longfield Road, last week.
