SOME of the finest female artists in the North-East will take to the stage as part of a festival of pop-up theatre.
Visitors to a theatre dome constructed in Darlington’s market square can enjoy an evening of “alternative folk and spellbinding songcraft” on Friday, October 6.
The intimate performance will feature harmonies from Samantha Durnan, urban poetry from Eve Conway, electric soundscapes from the Girl from Winter Jargon and vocals from Emily Whitfield.
A spokesman for music collective Tracks, organisers of the gig, said: “The intimate affair is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in sound, with gorgeous original music whispering in your ears and tickling your heart from every angle.”
The event, part of the Pop-up Theatretown festival, will take place in the Roundabout at Market Square from 7pm.
The theatrical festival, supported by Arts Council England and Darlington Borough Council, will see a variety of events staged in the Roundabout – a “pop-up, plug-and-play theatre”- throughout the weekend. For information or tickets, visit darlingtontheatretown.co.uk.
