THIEVES have stolen a garden statue from an address in Darlington.
The sixteen-year-old statue of a Greek woman was taken with its base from the front garden of a property in the Bleath Ghyll area on the night of Friday, September 1.
The base was found broken nearby but there was no sign of the statue.
A spokesman from Durham Constabulary said: “It has a huge amount of sentimental value to the owner. We ask anyone who may know its whereabouts to get in touch.”
Anyone with information about the incident, or who saw anything suspicious, is asked to call Durham Police on 101 quoting reference number 282 of September 2.
