A POPULAR family walk that allows children to find out more about bees is returning for another year.

Friends of the Earth Annual Bee walk will take place on Sunday, September 10 at The Denes Darlington.

The walk will include a nature trail and activities for children, including bee fact sheets, bee spotter cards, bee related activity sheets and question/answer sheets.

There will also be an opportunity for adults and children to visit the Darlington Bee Keeper’s hives, wear beekeeper suits and see the Bees up close.

They will also be able to talk to the bee keeper and taste the honey.

"Last year’s Bee Walk proved to be a great success and was enjoyed by many children and their parents," said Joanne Ashwood, organiser of this year's event.

Anyone attending is asked to bring a picnic and meet at the tennis courts on Woodland Road at 11.30am.

Those organising the event are advising everyone to wear shoes and socks.
