THE family of a woman cared for at St Teresa's Hospice have raised more than £2,000 as a way of saying thanks.
Cath Larnach passed away in the hospice in April this year and her family were overwhelmed by the kindness and wonderful care they all received during her time there.
In recognition of the kindness, a garden party was organised with the theme of Prosecco and cream scones.
Her family were amazed by the kindness of family, friends and neighbours who all volunteered their time and effort.
Some 120 scones were baked and creamed and plates and plates of homemade cakes were donated. And other friends came to their rescue with a huge gazebo which sheltered all from the unpredictable British weather. Tom and Cameron volunteered to come and play live music which was fantastic.
Local businesses, many of whom knew Ms Larnach donated fantastic raffle prizes for the event and as a result £2,228 was raised for the hospice.
It is the families intention to hold an annual fund raising event not only to support the hospice but to remember Cath who felt charity began at home.
Her family thanked everyone for supporting them.
