DARLINGTON launched its first climate change strategy yesterday during a recycling event.
A climate dome was set up in Darlington marketplace to give people the chance to see how they can beat global warming.
The dome was organised for Darlington Borough Council's Big Recycle event.
It also ties in with the council's climate strategy, which aims to reduce gas emissions and raise awareness of Darlington's impact on the climate.
The Darlington Partnership signed a declaration two years ago to confirm its commitment to the environment and adopt strategies.
The dome gave visitors information about recycling and leading sustainable lifestyles.
Councillor Veronica Copeland, cabinet member for consumer and environmental services, said: "The strategy sets out what everyone needs to know about climate change and what simple actions we can all take."
