A LADIES lunch club has helped fund equipment for a charity that provides news to blind and partially-sighted people.
The North-East Ladies Luncheon Club presented the Darlington Talking Newspaper, based in The Northern Echo's offices, in Priestgate, with a cheque for £2,210.
The money was raised by the club's annual dinner held at the Ramside Hotel, near Durham, last September.
Jean Stuart, president, said: "Three charities benefit each year from the dinner.
"We tend to choose the small charities, because it makes a big difference to them."
