CHILDREN were well drilled when Gurkha soldiers visited a Darlington school.
A dozen Gurkha soldiers travelled from their training base at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, to spend the morning at Abbey Junior School, in Darlington.
The children learned about Nepalese culture and were taught army drill.
The visit was part of activities for year six children during their last few weeks at the school.
Headteacher George Ford said: "We try to enrich the children's last few weeks at Abbey with as wide a range of experiences as possible. "
The visit from the Gurkhas wasa great addition and very successful."
