RESIDENTS living near the proposed redevelopment of a former school have asked for buildings to be limited in height.
Darlington Borough Council has asked people living near the former Beaumont Hill School for comments about a housing development.
A total of 55 people living near the school, in Glebe Road, Harrowgate Hill, took part in a consultation.
Residents were asked questions, including if they wanted the development to include three-storey properties.
Only three people agreed, with 48 householders wanting development limited to two storeys.
The developers, which have not been chosen, will be asked to restrict homes to two storeys.
Those responding to the questionnaire also asked for the new development to front onto Glebe Road, the south side of the whole site or onto new access roads; for mature trees in the area to be retained; for gardens to include a hedge or fence; and for open spaces and playing fields to be maintained.
