PLANS have been drawn up to build an industrial estate at Darlington which could create up to 660 jobs.
Gateshead-based developers City and Northern has applied for planning permission to build 21 office units and a delicatessen on vacant land next to the junction of the A66 and Yarm Road.
The plan is phase three of the Morton Palms scheme - a multi-million pound development that forms part of a huge industrial estate on the outskirts of the town, with the potential to create thousands of jobs.
If approved, the latest stage of the plan will see eight two-storey and two three-storey office blocks built, with parking for more than 150 vehicles.
A delicatessen with attached cafe will also be built.
City and Northern has conducted a full environmental survey and have found no protected species on site.
The plans will be considered by Darlington Borough Council's planning committee within the next few months.
Blueprints for the scheme are available to view at the Town Hall.
