DAVE Penney has continued his Darlington shake-up after completing a triple swoop yesterday.

After landing defensive duo Steve Foster and Alan White last week, Penney has moved to acquire the services of freed Hartlepool United defender John Brackstone, Motherwell midfielder Kevin McBride and Hull City's Scott Wiseman.

However, Penney insisted he will not be making a move for released Hartlepool striker Eifion Williams.

The Quakers boss yesterday insisted the Welshman, scorer of two goals in Pools' 3-0 win at Darlington this season, is not among his list of summer targets.

Left-back Brackstone, 22, was released by Pools at the end of the season after making 35 starts for his hometown club.

Penney has also made a surprise move for Wiseman, who made ten loan appearances at Darlington towards the end of the season.

McBride, a right winger, who started his career at Celtic, joins after making 73 appearances in three seasons at Motherwell.

McBride passed a medical at the 96.6TFM Darlington Arena yesterday and will complete the formalities of the move on a one-year deal in the next few days.

"Everyone knows Scott Wiseman from his loan spell with us," said Penney.

"He is a great addition to the squad.

"John Brackstone will provide competition for Tim Ryan which we haven't really had much of down there and Kevin McBride is having his medical.

"That is three more so hopefully they'll be a few more in the next few weeks.''

Meanwhile, Darlington yesterday launched next season's kit after agreeing a three-year deal with UK sports manufacturers, Vandanel, to the approval of Penney.

"I like the look of the new kit, especially with the black back as it's easier for people in the stands to make out the numbers," said the manager.

"I wasn't convinced with the hooped socks so we went with all black, which I think looks really smart.

"Vandanel is a brand I'm familiar with from when they worked with Doncaster and it's great to have them at Darlington."

The kit will be available to buy from early June.

For the tenth season Darlington Building Society will be the club's shirt sponsors.

David Copland, of Darlington Building Society, said: "We're into our tenth year now and we've got another three-year deal so it means we can plan for the future. We're optimistic about the future and delighted to be a part of it."
