TIME is running out for two stray dogs who have not been re-homed.
The two Staffordshire bull terriers face being put down unless homes can be found for them.
Last week, Darlington Borough Council officials appealed for homes for Jack and Mary, but no new owners have been found.
Darlington council dog warden John Martin said: "While they have been in kennels, they have not shown any signs of behavioural problems. They seem to be good-natured animals, and now, because we have not been able to find them a home, we are absolutely desperate.
"Unless someone comes forward, they will have to be put to sleep."
Jack has been neutered and vaccinated, and Mary is due to be neutered and vaccinated this week.
To give them a new home, call Deerness Kennels on 0191-378-0439 or Darlington council's customer services department on 01325-388799.
