ACTION WEEK: North Road Ward is one of four wards which have been chosen to launch an Action Week until Saturday, to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and increase community spirit.
A police caravan is in Morrisons car park, in North Road, today between 2pm and 8pm for information and advice.
Litter-picks have been planned for tomorrow, at 9.30am, with pupils from North Road and Harrowgate Hill Primary Schools.
"Street Scene Man" may be there to lend a hand and encourage children to care about their local environment.
The Youth Service is holding team-building activities on Saturday at Northland Methodist Church, between 5pm and 8pm, for residents and the Youth Club.
A graffiti workshop ends the Action Week on Sunday in North Park between 3pm and 8pm.
A large board is being provided by the Youth Service for young people to express themselves and make their mark by creating their own tag with graffiti.
YOUTH CLUB: The newly-opened youth club at Northlands Church is proving a success. It's open Mondays and Thursdays, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and is used for activities, including music, console games, training courses, homework or as a meeting point - for only 30p. Visit www. darlington.gov.uk/evibe
FAMILY SUB-GROUP: If you would like to join North Road Community Partnership but cannot make the main meeting on the second Thursday evening of each month at 6pm, it holds a Family Sub-Group at North Road Primary School on the second Friday of each month at 9.30am.
COMMUNITY CAFE: The North Road Community Partnership is developing a community cafe, offering activities in a friendly atmosphere. Child facilities will be available, so whether you want to chat and relax with friends, start a training course or take up a new hobby, you will have the perfect surroundings.
