NATURALIST David Bellamy has helped children at a Darlington school protect the environment.
Dr Bellamy helped pupils at Mowden Junior School plant 20 trees. The trees have been donated by the Tree Appeal, a Bishop Auckland-based group that helps companies reduce their environmental footprints by planting native British trees.
Sixty-two trees have been donated to Darlington - 32 are sponsored by printing.com and 30 are provided by the Newton Aycliffe-based John Wade Group, which sponsored a fun day at South Park.
The remaining trees that are not planted at the school, which include ash, cherry and alders, will be planted in Cemetery Lane in Darlington.
