STUDENTS at a Darlington school have launched a Fairtrade smoothie bar for fellow pupils.
The bar is the latest part of Carmel RC College's campaign to raise funds to build a school in Cambodia.
Drinks are made using Fairtrade ingredients and, before going into production, the students were given advice and training by David Evans, the owner of That Juice Place, in Darlington. Mr Evans donated a supply of biodegradable smoothie cups.
The smoothies proved popular, with more than £50 being raised within 15 minutes of opening.
The bar will be open every Wednesday during the morning break.
