GENEALOGISTS looking to trace ancestors who worked in the railway trade are being invited to an event.
An Introduction to Tracing Your Railway Ancestors sessions will take place in Crown Street Library, Darlington.
The event has been organised on Tuesday, May 22, to coincide with Adult Learners Week.
Staff from Darlington Railway Centre and Museum will have items from the museum's Ken Hoole Study Centre.
The study centre is closed as part of the museum's £1.7m refurbishment. It will re-open next Easter.
The library will showcase a list of station masters, registers of Darlington's enginemen, and a selection of North Eastern Railway Pension Society records.
On show will also be photographs of the town's two stations and railway staff.
Sarah Gouldsbrough, Darlington Borough Council's museum access officer, said: "We have a huge archive of information and images about the railways, so anyone interested in their family's railway heritage should come along and have a look.
"While the museum and Ken Hoole Study Centre are being refurbished, this is an excellent opportunity for people to have a look through the records."
The free event runs from 10am to noon.
