RESIDENTS are being invited to give their views on the multi- million pound transformation of a derelict factory into the UK's biggest eco-village.
The owners of Lingfield Point business park are holding consultation events on the redevelopment of the former Patons and Baldwins wool factory.
Marchday, the owners of Lingfield Point business park launched its ten to 15-year vision for the site earlier this year.
The company plans to create a flagship development, including low energy homes, offices, leisure facilities and hotel and community amenities.
Plans also include the redevelopment of the two landmark buildings, the Powerhouse and the Soap Dock.
The Powerhouse could be transformed into office space with a hotel, and the Soap Dock, where wool was collected, could become loft-style apartments.
Marchday is staging a series of roadshow events around Darlington.
The roadshow locations and dates are:
* Cornmill Shopping Centre, from Tuesday, May 15, to Saturday, May 19, between 9am and 5.30pm. A member of the Lingfield Point team will be available to answer questions during the event.
* Red Hall Community Centre, Red Hall, from Tuesday, May 29, to Friday, June 1, between 9am and 4pm (between 1pm and 4pm on Friday).
* On Wednesday, May 30, betw-een 9am and 8pm. The Lingfield Point team will be available to answer questions.
* The Beehive, Lingfield Point, from Tuesday, May 22. There will be a permanent exhibition.
