A HEADTEACHER has scaled Britain's highest mountains to help raise £2,000 for charity.
Along with three of his friends, Dean Judson, headteacher of Hurworth School Maths and Computing College, completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Mr Judson, 41, and his friends Graham Edmonds, Anthony Devine and Andrew Tilbury took part in the challenge after Mr Devine's wife, Lynette White, was given the all-clear following a battle with the disease.
The fundraisers, who have known one another since they were at school, raised more than £2,000 by climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdonia and Scarfell Pike in less than 24 hours.
Mr Judson said: "We wanted to do something to repay the support Lynette had.
"It was hard. We all went through periods where we had peaks and troughs. We all had to drag each other through.
"I am really proud we have actually done it. It was really nice, we managed to get on to two peaks - Ben Nevis and Scarfell - with no other people on there.
